Imagine a crystal ball that allowed you to predict patient outcomes. It's not realistic, but researchers are working on the next best thing! The Predictive Swallowing Score, or PRESS. PRESS is a prognostic model of swallowing recovery and enteral tube feedings after stroke. In episode 195, we talk to the researcher behind the model, Dr. Marian Galovic, and Caroling Traub, an acute care SLP that implemented this tool in her hospital with great success. I just love this episode so much!
