Nashifa Momin

We have SLPs who niche….and then we have SLPs who super-niche.

Meet this week’s guest on the podcast, Nashifa Hooda Momin SLP.D, CCC-SLP.

Nashifa joins us this week to tell us all about the world of speech-language pathology in the care of infants with congenital heart disease (CHD)…like I said, super-niche!

This episode is packed with specialized information about this vulnerable yet resilient population.

Nashifa tells us:

  • what exactly CHD in infants looks like from a therapeutic lens
  • how the unique anatomy of CHD impacts infant feeding/swallowing
  • the benefit of pre-surgery early intervention to optimize post-op feeding outcomes
  • about her work as an allied health research scientist & with infants with single ventricle physiology

Nashifa has been an incredible contributor to the Medical SLP Collective Facebook discussions and presented a webinar this year on this very topic. There is so much to learn from her about!   We know you will this episode.
